Privacy Policy

How City Commercial Drywall & Firestopping Ltd. (CCDF) collects, uses, shares and protects the personal information you share with us.

Effective date: October 9, 2026.

Who we are

City Commercial Drywall & Firestopping Ltd. ("CCDF", "we", "us") is an incorporated interior construction subcontractor based at 18858 69A Avenue, Surrey, BC, serving British Columbia's Lower Mainland. This policy covers the personal information we collect through www.ccfirestopping.com and through enquiries made by phone or email. It does not cover information we collect in the ordinary course of a construction contract, such as site personnel records, which is handled under separate agreements.

CCDF is based in British Columbia and does its work here, so the law that principally governs this policy is British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), which sets the rules for how private-sector organizations in BC handle personal information. Some of what you send us also crosses the border — our forms provider and our font provider run servers in the United States, as described under "How we share your information" below — and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) governs those transfers. We work to meet both.

Who is accountable for your information

PIPA requires every organization to put a named individual in charge of its privacy obligations. At CCDF that responsibility sits with Barinder Lehal, Privacy Officer, who can be reached by email at info@ccfirestopping.com, or by mail at City Commercial Drywall & Firestopping Ltd., Attention: Privacy Officer, 18858 69A Avenue, Surrey, BC. Put "Privacy" in the subject line and your message will reach them. Every request, question and complaint described in this policy goes to that same place.

Information we collect

This site carries the same "Request a Quote" form in two places — on the home page and on the Contact page. Both send to the same inbox, and on either one we collect:

  • Required: your name, your email address, and the message describing your project.
  • Optional, if you choose to add them: your company, your phone number, the project name, the project location, which of our six scopes you need priced, and your estimated start or tender-close date.
  • An optional file attachment: one drawing or specification file of up to 8 MB (PDF, DWG, ZIP, Word, Excel or image). Whatever is inside that file reaches us with it. If your drawings or specs carry names, phone numbers, professional stamps or signatures belonging to other people, please send only what we need in order to price the work.

A hidden "leave this field empty if you are human" field on the same form catches automated spam and does not collect information about you.

If you call or email us directly, we collect whatever you tell us — typically your name, contact details, and details of the project you want priced.

Like most websites, this site's hosting and forms providers may automatically log standard technical information — such as IP address, browser type and pages visited — for security and operational purposes. This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not run any advertising or social media tracking pixels.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to: reply to your enquiry; prepare and follow up on a quote; deliver a contracted project; and meet legal, accounting or insurance obligations connected to that work. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing email.

How we get your consent, and how you can take it back

When you fill in the quote form, call us or email us, you are giving us your consent to use that information for the purposes set out above — those are the obvious reasons a person sends a subcontractor a project enquiry. We ask for nothing beyond what those purposes need, and the form marks which fields are required. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose, we will ask you first.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to our Privacy Officer, and we will stop using your information within a reasonable period. Two things to know before you do: withdrawal is not retroactive, and some records we have to keep anyway — see "How long we keep your information" below.

If you withdraw consent part-way through a live enquiry or project, we will usually be unable to continue pricing or delivering the work, because we would no longer be able to contact you about it. We will tell you if that is the case rather than simply going quiet.

How we share your information

Quote form submissions on this site, including any file you attach, are handled by Netlify's form service, which stores the submission on our behalf so we can read and reply to it. This site also loads its typefaces directly from Google Fonts, which receives the visitor's IP address as a normal part of serving that file. These two are the only third parties this website passes anything to. If we change website or forms providers, we will update this policy.

Both providers store or process data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States, which means that information may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement and government agencies under the laws of those countries. We use providers that commit to protecting the information they hold for us, but we cannot control foreign legal process. If you would rather not have your enquiry travel outside Canada, call us on 778-913-2235 instead of using the form.

Beyond those providers, we share personal information only where PIPA permits it: with your consent, with professionals such as our accountant or insurer where a contracted project requires it, where it is needed to collect a debt you owe us, or where a law, subpoena, court order or regulator requires us to produce it. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only as long as the law requires or permits: at least one year for enquiry and quote information, six years for contract and financial records, and everything else only for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for.

Retention periods in detail

  • At least one year for enquiry and quote information. If we use it to make a decision about you — for example, whether or how to respond — BC's PIPA requires that minimum, so you have a reasonable chance to ask to see it.
  • Six years for contract and financial records. If your enquiry becomes a contracted project, the Income Tax Act requires Canadian businesses to keep the related records for that long.
  • Everything else, only while we need it. Beyond these minimums, we delete or anonymize personal information once it no longer serves the purpose it was collected for.

Any drawing or spec file you attach is kept with the enquiry it arrived on and is deleted on the same timetable.

How we protect your information

We limit access to personal information to the people at CCDF who need it to respond to your enquiry or deliver your project, and rely on our service providers' own security measures for the data they process on our behalf. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the type of information involved.

If personal information we hold is lost or accessed by someone who should not have it, and we judge that this creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you about it without unreasonable delay, explain what happened and what we are doing about it, and report it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Your rights, and how to use them

Under PIPA you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, together with an account of how it has been used and who it has been disclosed to; ask us to correct anything about it that is wrong or incomplete; or withdraw your consent to our continued use of it. To do any of these, write to our Privacy Officer — email info@ccfirestopping.com, or call 778-913-2235 and we will tell you how to put the request in writing, which PIPA requires for access requests.

We will respond no later than 30 business days after we receive your request. PIPA lets us take up to 30 further business days in limited circumstances — for example if the request is very broad, or we need to consult someone else about it — and if we need that extra time we will tell you so, and why, before the first 30 days are up.

We do not charge you a fee to access your own personal information. If we cannot give you all of what you asked for, we will tell you which parts we are withholding and the reason, as PIPA requires.

Children's privacy

This website is directed at businesses and adults arranging construction work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Links to other sites

This site may link to third-party sites, such as manufacturers' websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website or business practices change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.

Contact us, or make a complaint

Questions about this policy, or about the personal information we hold, can go to info@ccfirestopping.com, 778-913-2235, or 18858 69A Avenue, Surrey, BC.

PIPA requires us to have a complaint process and to tell you what it is. Ours has three steps:

  1. Send your complaint to our Privacy Officer at info@ccfirestopping.com or the mailing address above, with "Privacy" in the subject line. Tell us what happened and what you would like us to do.
  2. We will give you a written answer within 30 business days, setting out what we found, what we have changed, and why. That is the same outer limit PIPA sets for access requests, and we hold ourselves to it for complaints too. If a complaint is straightforward we will usually come back to you well inside it.
  3. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, which oversees PIPA. You do not need our permission to do this, and you can go to them directly at any point. Note that if you want the Commissioner to review our answer, PIPA gives you 30 days from the date of that answer to ask.

Privacy, answered

Do you sell or share my personal information?

No. CCDF does not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run this website and respond to enquiries, such as our forms processor, or when required by law.

What personal information does CCDF collect?

The quote form requires your name, your email and a message describing the project. Everything else is optional: company, phone, project name, project location, the scopes you need, your start or tender date, and one drawing or spec file of up to 8 MB. Like most websites, our hosting and forms providers may also automatically log technical details such as IP address and browser type.

Does this website use cookies or tracking?

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It loads type from Google Fonts, which receives the visitor's IP address as a normal part of serving that file.

How long does CCDF keep my information?

At least one year for enquiry information we use to decide how to respond, as BC's PIPA requires. If your enquiry becomes a contracted project, we keep the related financial and contract records for six years, as the Income Tax Act requires. Beyond these minimums, we delete or anonymize personal information once we no longer need it.

How do I access, correct or complain about my information?

Write to our Privacy Officer at info@ccfirestopping.com, or call 778-913-2235, to request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you. We answer within 30 business days and charge nothing for your own information. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at 250-387-5629 or info@oipc.bc.ca.

Does my information leave Canada?

Yes. Quote form submissions, including any attached drawing, are handled by Netlify, and the site's typefaces load from Google Fonts — both run servers in the United States, where foreign courts and agencies can compel access under their own laws. If you would rather your enquiry stayed in Canada, call us on 778-913-2235 instead of using the form.

Can I withdraw my consent after I send an enquiry?

Yes, in writing to our Privacy Officer at any time. Withdrawal is not retroactive, and records we are legally required to keep stay for their required period. If you withdraw while a quote or project is live, we will usually have to stop work on it, because we would no longer be able to contact you about it — we will tell you if that applies.

Questions about your information?

Call or email us directly and our Privacy Officer will answer in plain terms — what we hold about you, why we hold it, and how to ask for a copy, a correction, or to withdraw your consent.
